Motor Controller Requirements Requested product
A high-quality, well-rounded electronic speed controller for a coreless motor, controlled by an ESP32.
Current state
The project has no components or nets. No circuit, parts, layout, or verification has been completed.
Inputs needed before selecting the power stage
  • Motor part number or datasheet; confirm brushed DC versus brushless. Coreless describes construction, not commutation type.
  • Motor rated voltage and stall current (or winding resistance if stall current is unavailable).
  • Power source and its minimum/maximum voltage; battery chemistry and cell count if applicable.
  • Forward-only operation versus reversible operation, and whether active braking is required.
I saved your request and the protection goals in Motor Controller Requirements; no circuit or PCB has been built yet. Before sizing the controller, I need your motor’s part number or datasheet, supply voltage, whether you need reverse/braking, and whether the ESP32 is external or onboard—“coreless” alone does not tell me whether the motor is brushed or brushless.
Building and verifying the design requires Agent mode. Execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.
What is Agent mode?
Agent mode lets Flux build, do deep research, validate designs, and work through complex assignments.
Chat mode is just as smart and has the same engineering knowledge, but it cannot work autonomously.
Only Agent mode consumes your plan's included AI usage (measured in ACUs).

  • Whether the ESP32 is external or should be integrated onto the controller board.
Design goals to evaluate
ESP32-compatible logic; a power stage sized for stall and startup conditions; defined power-up and reset behavior; inductive-current recirculation; local bulk and ceramic decoupling; current limiting or fault shutdown; supply transient control; thermal margins; and accessible test points. Choose PWM settings and current-ripple targets appropriate to the actual motor rather than assuming a generic switching frequency. These are proposed engineering goals, not implemented features.
Next work
Resolve the motor, supply, and operating requirements. Then select the topology and protection scheme, capture the schematic, verify electrical limits, and proceed to layout after schematic review.
Session limitation
Execution stopped because the user's ACUs ran out. No hardware design mutations were performed.
