To build this circuit, the next step is to design a 12 V DC input power stage with:
12 V input connector
Input protection, such as reverse-polarity protection and fuse/polyfuse
Buck regulator from 12 V to 5 V for sensors
3.3 V regulator, either from 5 V or directly from 12 V, for microcontrollers
Input/output capacitors and power indicators/test points
