3D Model Orientation Fix

  • Click on your 3D model in the object browser (right-hand column).
  • In the inspector under “Object-specific rules,” click Add Rule.
  • Select Rotation and enter the XYZ angles needed to lay it flat (e.g. 90 0 0).
  • If needed, also add Z Axis is Up to flip the up-axis back to Z.
  • Adjust Position or Scale rules to fine-tune placement.
For full details, see the “Changing the offset and orientation” section in the Importing Components guide:

hey Co-Pilot, why is my 3D model split between the top and bottom grid?
Here’s how to fix a model that’s split between top and bottom grid:
  1. Select the 3D model in the object browser.
  2. In the inspector under “Object-specific rules,” click Add Rule.
  3. Choose Z Axis is Up to reorient the up-axis so Z points upward.
  4. If it’s still misaligned, add a Position rule and adjust the Z offset until the model sits on one grid.
Full instructions are in the “Layout Rules List” → “Z Axis is Up” section:
https://docs.flux.ai/flux/reference/layout-rules-types
Apply Z rule
Adjust Position
