Designing a complete product in Flux is an iterative process connecting electronics, PCB layout, mechanical fit, firmware, validation, and manufacturing.
- PCB-first: Define requirements → design and verify the schematic → size, place, and route the PCB → build the enclosure around the finished board → validate connector access, clearances, thermals, assembly, and manufacturing outputs. Best when electrical architecture, interfaces, or board performance drives the product.
- Enclosure-first: Define how the product is held, mounted, operated, and connected → establish the enclosure envelope, controls, ports, and internal constraints → design the PCB to fit those datums → iterate both together → validate assembly and manufacturing. Best when ergonomics, appearance, mounting, or fixed industrial dimensions drive the design.
In either workflow, Flux keeps the PCB and mechanical design in the same project so changes can be checked against the complete product rather than as isolated artifacts. No project changes were made in this session; execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.
