PCB-First vs Enclosure-First Design

Briefly describe what it's like to design a complete product in Flux. Help me understand what the PCB-first and enclosure-first design workflows are like to work with.
Designing a complete product in Flux means developing the electronics and mechanical design together—from requirements and schematic through PCB layout, enclosure, fit checks, and manufacturing files.
  • PCB-first: Start with the circuitry, place connectors and components, then design the enclosure around the board. It’s a natural fit when electrical performance drives the product; the trade-off is less freedom over the final shape.
  • Enclosure-first: Start with the product’s size, appearance, controls, and mounting points, then shape the PCB to fit. It suits products where ergonomics or space dominate, but can make component placement and routing more constrained.
Both are iterative: connector access, mounting holes, heat, and assembly need checking together. I haven’t changed your project; execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.
