Designing a complete product in Flux means developing the electronics, firmware, and physical enclosure together, then checking that they fit, connect, and can be manufactured.
- PCB-first: Start with functions, power, and interfaces; build the schematic and PCB layout, then design an enclosure around the board and connectors. This works well when circuit performance or existing hardware drives the product. The tradeoff: the enclosure may need to grow or change to accommodate the electronics.
- Enclosure-first: Start with how the product is held, mounted, and used; establish its shape, openings, and internal space, then design the PCB to fit. This works well when appearance, ergonomics, or installation constraints matter most. The tradeoff: tight packaging can make component placement and routing harder.
Both workflows are iterative—not one-way handoffs—and converge through fit checks, electrical review, prototypes, and manufacturing preparation. I haven’t changed your project this session; execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.
