Temperature and Humidity Sensor Node Design

I’m blocked because execution credits are exhausted, so I can’t modify the Flux project or run schematic/layout/review tools in this session.
Current project state:
  • No components have been added.
  • No schematic wiring has been created.
  • No PCB layout work has started.
  • No datasheet validation or ERC review has been run.
Recommended design direction when work can resume:
  • MCU/radio: low-power Wi-Fi + BLE 5.x SoC/module, likely ESP32-C6 or ESP32-S3 module depending on BLE/Wi-Fi requirements and firmware ecosystem.
  • Sensor: digital temperature/RH sensor over I²C, e.g. Sensirion SHT4x/SHTC3-class device.
  • USB-C input: USB-C receptacle configured as 5 V sink with CC pull-downs for default USB-C current advertisement.
  • Protection/power path:
    • Input TVS/ESD protection.
    • Reverse-current/reverse-polarity protection.
    • OVP/UVLO/OCP power-path/load-switch stage sized for 0.5–3 A capable sources.
    • 5 V to 3.3 V regulator sized from a proper power budget.
  • Support circuitry:
    • Decoupling on every IC/module supply pin.
    • I²C pull-ups.
    • USB-C shield/ESD handling.
    • RF antenna keepout if using a module with PCB antenna.
    • Programming/debug header.
    • Optional status LED with power-conscious resistor value or firmware-controlled enable.
What remains to be done:
  1. Rename and document the project specification.
  2. Select exact MCU/module, sensor, USB-C connector, protection ICs, and regulator from available library parts.
  3. Consult datasheets for all ICs and active/protection parts.
  4. Create the full schematic with USB-C power input, protection, regulation, MCU/radio, sensor, programming, and passives.
  5. Run ERC/review and fix all violations.
  6. After schematic approval, proceed to PCB size, placement, RF-aware layout, routing, DRC, and manufacturing outputs.
