I checked the Espressif guidance for this module’s PCB antenna.
Keep-out zone size
The datasheet gives the antenna area as 15.4 mm x 4.5 mm, and Espressif’s hardware design guidelines say to keep at least 15 mm clearance in all directions around that antenna area if you cannot place the antenna outside the base board.
Calculated rectangular keep-out
- Antenna area: 15.4 mm x 4.5 mm
- Clearance margin: 15 mm on each side
So the full no-copper / no-routing / no-components rectangle is:
- Width: 15.4 + 15 + 15 = 45.4 mm
- Depth: 4.5 + 15 + 15 = 34.5 mm
Result
- Minimum rectangular keep-out zone: 45.4 mm x 34.5 mm
- Area: 1566.3 mm²
Practical placement note
Espressif’s preferred placement is still to let the PCB antenna extend outside the base board with the antenna feed point near the board edge. If that is not possible, use the 45.4 mm x 34.5 mm clearance region above and avoid copper, traces, vias, and components in that zone. For Flux placement work, the overhang / keepout should be derived from the datasheet and passed as an edge-placement constraint , and datasheet-derived mechanical values should be treated as the source of truth
If you want, I can next turn this into an exact Flux placement rule for the module.
