Project Specification Project Overview
Compact ESP32-C3 Super Mini carrier for battery-powered audio, sensing, touch, and PWM LED control. Status: Draft implementation.
Intended Use
Prototype controller powered from USB-C or a protected 1S Li-ion cell, with external peripherals attached by soldered wires.
What the Device Should Do
  • Charge a 1S Li-ion battery at up to at least 2 A with power-path/load sharing.
  • Generate a regulated 5 V system rail from the battery.
  • Run an ESP32-C3 Super Mini development board from 5 V.
  • Drive a 4 ohm speaker using a MAX98357A I2S amplifier.
  • Interface to an external INMP441 I2S microphone module.
  • Read a capacitive touch electrode and external LDR.
  • PWM-switch an external 1.5 W LED.

Power Budget Peak Load Estimate
  • ESP32-C3 Super Mini from 5 V: 0.50 A transient allowance.
  • MAX98357A driving 4 ohms: 0.80 A peak allowance.
  • External 1.5 W LED: 0.30 A nominal.
  • 3.3 V peripherals and margin reflected to 5 V: 0.20 A.
  • Total regulated 5 V design target: 1.80 A peak.
Battery-Side Requirement
Using 3.0 V minimum battery voltage and 85% boost efficiency:
Ibat = (5 V x 1.8 A) / (3.0 V x 0.85) = 3.53 A
Size the battery, protection path, boost switch, inductor, and PCB copper for at least 4 A peak. Connectorless battery solder pads and short, wide copper are required.
USB-C Constraint
A USB-C sink with 5.1 kohm CC pull-downs may encounter default-current sources below 2 A. Charger input-current limiting must prevent overdraw; 2 A charging is available on...
Requirements and the 4 A-class battery-side power budget are recorded in the project files. I’m now selecting verified library parts and building the complete schematic; I’ll stop rather than inventing the Super Mini footprint if no dimensionally credible carrier pattern is available.

Received notification from "ESP32 C3 Carrier Schematic" that it finished — picking the work back up.
The project was renamed ESP32-C3 Audio Touch Controller, and I created the Project Specification and Power Budget files. The budget targets a 1.8 A peak 5 V rail and approximately 3.53 A battery current at 3.0 V and 85% efficiency, requiring a battery/protection/boost path rated for at least 4 A peak.
The schematic build sub-thread completed, but I could not inspect or reconcile its report, verify schematic mutations, run ERC, or continue into PCB placement, routing, DRC, BOM, and Gerber export.
Execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.
