I’m blocked now because the account has no available ACUs, so I can’t continue executing tools or wait on the spawned board-completion threads.
Accomplished so far:
  • Updated production docs to make the coin-cell/WS2812 voltage, runtime, firmware-cap, P-MOS fault-scope, and one-cell-reversed risks explicit blockers: Production Release Risk Review.
  • Re-sourced/updated BOM metadata for the JLCPCB/LCSC parts and documented the audit: JLCPCB BOM Sourcing Audit.
  • Updated the firmware, bring-up, stackup/alignment, project specification, and blocker notes with low-battery, validation, and per-board export side/orientation gates.
  • Cloned the master into separate RED and BLACK production-export projects and started board-specific completion/export threads, but those did not finish before ACUs became unavailable.
Open items:
  • Finish the RED and BLACK board-specific layout/export threads.
  • Apply/import artwork and shared outline, or document exact tooling blockers.
  • Place aligned standoff holes and correct component sides.
  • Route both boards, run/fix ERC/DRC, and export separate JLCPCB Gerber/drill/BOM/CPL packs.
  • Validate the CR2032/WS2812 voltage/runtime and parallel-cell fault behavior before any production-ready claim.

Latest authoritative requirements
  • Final size revision supersedes 320 x 200 mm.
  • Target board size: approximately 133 x 213 mm, portrait, about 1.33x original 100 x 160 mm.
  • Both red/top and black/bottom boards must share the same scaled front_outline.svg outline and aligned standoff holes.
  • Bottom black-board art must be re-fetched from the corrected cache-busted sources only:
    • black_reference.png?v=fix2
    • black_copper.svg?v=fix2
    • black_silk.svg?v=fix2
  • Corrected black art features verified in the active corrected-art flow: dendrites, robots/androids, lower-left raised fist, lower-right “ALTRUISTIC MERITOCRACY,” and no large w00c0n wordmark.
  • Place 18 WS2812B-2020 LEDs on the red board underside aligned to the neuron nucleus, dendrite tips, and cutouts.
  • Re-space electronics/components for the larger badge; route; run ERC/DRC; export separate JLCPCB Gerber/drill/BOM/CPL packs per board.
JLCPCB size note
A 133 x 213 mm single board is within typical JLCPCB single-PCB fabrication and SMT assembly size capability. Cost will increase versus the original 100 x 160 mm outline because area increases by about 1.77x. It is not expected to hit the previously researched large-board limit concerns for 320 x 200 mm.
Current project state observed
  • Structured layout read succeeds only by explicit project reference.
  • Active layout remains a single 160 x 100 mm default board with 69 components; all listed components are on the Top layer.
  • Component bounding box is about 109.18 x 233.16 mm, indicating prior spread/placement is not a finished 133 x 213 production layout.
  • It is not yet split into complete red/top-board and black/bottom-board manufacturing outputs.
Tooling blockers encountered
  • Asset create/import failed repeatedly with generic unexpected errors / no project context.
  • Board mutation failed: missing project document context.
  • Placement agent failed: No project context available.
  • Direct component placement mutation failed: No project document context available.
  • DRC/check read by explicit project reference failed: Project not found, although layout read by the same explicit project reference succeeds.
  • Because these mutations/checks are blocked, manufacturing exports were not generated.
Safe next action
Continue only in a project-scoped Flux session where layout mutation and asset import tools have project context. Do not export until the ?v=fix2 bottom art is imported/scaled, the shared 133 x 213 mm outline is applied to both boards, LEDs/components/standoffs are placed, routing is complete, and DRC/ERC gates are clean.
Added production release blocker — coin-cell / LED rail validation
Independent review added a production-release blocker: the direct 2x CR2032 rail at the documented ~63 mA firmware-capped load is marginal for WS2812B-2020 voltage/current behavior and must not be called production-ready without prototype validation. Firmware brightness caps are operating limits, not hardware safety mechanisms. The release package must include measured VLED sag/ripple, LED behavior over cell life, low-battery firmware behavior, P-MOS voltage-drop verification, and parallel-cell fault analysis.
The existing P-MOS reverse-polarity stage should be treated as load-side reverse protection only unless proven otherwise; it does not inherently isolate one correctly installed cell from one reversed cell in a direct parallel CR2032 arrangement. If the badge allows user-replaceable cells, production approval requires per-cell isolation/current-limiting analysis or a documented mechanical/procedural mitigation.

  • Corrected bottom black art policy remains authoritative: only black_copper.svg?v=fix2, black_silk.svg?v=fix2, and black_reference.png?v=fix2; ignore stale/older black art and the large w00c0n wordmark.
  • Read-only docs and explicit layout summary were accessible; the live physical layout still appears as one 160 mm × 100 mm default board with 69 Top-layer components, not separate complete 133 mm × 213 mm red/black boards.
