Latest authoritative requirements
- Final size revision supersedes 320 x 200 mm.
- Target board size: approximately 133 x 213 mm, portrait, about 1.33x original 100 x 160 mm.
- Both red/top and black/bottom boards must share the same scaled
front_outline.svg outline and aligned standoff holes.

- Place 18 WS2812B-2020 LEDs on the red board underside aligned to the neuron nucleus, dendrite tips, and cutouts.
- Re-space electronics/components for the larger badge; route; run ERC/DRC; export separate JLCPCB Gerber/drill/BOM/CPL packs per board.
JLCPCB size note
A 133 x 213 mm single board is within typical JLCPCB single-PCB fabrication and SMT assembly size capability. Cost will increase versus the original 100 x 160 mm outline because area increases by about 1.77x. It is not expected to hit the previously researched large-board limit concerns for 320 x 200 mm.
Current project state observed
- Structured layout read succeeds only by explicit project reference.
- Active layout remains a single 160 x 100 mm default board with 69 components; all listed components are on the Top layer.
- Component bounding box is about 109.18 x 233.16 mm, indicating prior spread/placement is not a finished 133 x 213 production layout.

Added production release blocker — coin-cell / LED rail validation
Independent review added a production-release blocker: the direct 2x CR2032 rail at the documented ~63 mA firmware-capped load is marginal for WS2812B-2020 voltage/current behavior and must not be called production-ready without prototype validation. Firmware brightness caps are operating limits, not hardware safety mechanisms. The release package must include measured VLED sag/ripple, LED behavior over cell life, low-battery firmware behavior, P-MOS voltage-drop verification, and parallel-cell fault analysis.
The existing P-MOS reverse-polarity stage should be treated as load-side reverse protection only unless proven otherwise; it does not inherently isolate one correctly installed cell from one reversed cell in a direct parallel CR2032 arrangement. If the badge allows user-replaceable cells, production approval requires per-cell isolation/current-limiting analysis or a documented mechanical/procedural mitigation.
