Power Input & Protection: connector, 3 A fuse, reverse-polarity device, TVS, bulk and ceramic capacitance.
MCU: Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32-C6 powered at 5 V; onboard regulator supplies 3V3.
IMU: MPU-6050 on 3V3 I2C, address 0x68, interrupt connected.
LED Output: 5 V AHCT level buffer, output damping resistor, reset-state pulldown, and keyed +5V/DATA/GND connector.
Design Ceiling
Board and connectors are limited to 3 A. Reserve about 0.5 A for electronics, leaving about 2.5 A for LEDs (~40 WS2812B at 60 mA worst-case). Larger strips require separate power injection.
At 60 mA/pixel worst-case full white, 2.5 A supports about 41 pixels; use 40 pixels maximum for margin. Firmware brightness/current limiting is required. Larger strips require separate 5 V/GND power injection and must not send their full current through J1/F1/D1/J2 or board copper.
Power path: JST-VH J1 (10 A rating) → F1 3 A low-resistance conventional fuse → D1 SS54 5 A Schottky reverse-polarity protection → D2 SMBJ5.0A TVS and C1/C2 input filtering → protected 5 V loads. The series Schottky has lower complexity but causes load-dependent voltage drop and dissipation; verify delivered strip voltage under 3 A load.
