## Description
The Atmega32u4 is a microcontroller unit (MCU) that is widely used in a variety of applications due to its versatility and powerful processing capabilities. It is based on the Atmel AVR architecture and has a built-in USB controller, making it ideal for use in projects that require USB connectivity.
Some common use cases for the Atmega32u4 include creating custom keyboards and mouse devices, developing interactive multimedia projects, and creating embedded systems for internet of things (IoT) applications.
If you are working with the Atmega32u4 MCU and are in need of resources such as footprints, symbols, datasheets, and simulation models, be sure to check out Flux.ai. They have the world's largest community-driven public library of Atmega32u4 resources, making it an invaluable resource for engineers and developers working with this popular MCU.

- [Arduino Pro Micro](https://www.flux.ai/teaching-tomorrow/arduino-pro-micro.md) - The Micro is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega32U4 (datasheet), developed in conjunction with Adafruit. It has 20 digital input/output pins (of which 7 can be used as PWM outputs and 12 as analog inputs), a 16 MHz crystal oscillator, a micro USB connection, an ICSP header, and a reset button. It contains everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with a micro USB cable to get started. It has a form factor that enables it to be easily placed on a breadboard.
The Micro board is similar to the Arduino Leonardo in that the ATmega32U4 has built-in USB communication, eliminating the need for a secondary processor. This allows the Micro to appear to a connected computer as a mouse and keyboard, in addition to a virtual (CDC) serial / COM port.
