Part Review Mismatch Report

Review all available part information (MPN, package, pin count, description, properties). If no datasheet URL is already set, search the web for the official datasheet and update the part's Datasheet property with the URL. Then cross-check the schematic symbol, footprint, and pin descriptions against the datasheet. Summarize key specs and flag any mismatches.
I’ll inspect the part metadata, find and attach the official datasheet if missing, then cross-check symbol pins, footprint/pads, and descriptions against the datasheet and report any mismatches.
The part already has a datasheet URL; I found the official Samtec product page as corroboration and confirmed the uploaded PDF matches the Samtec drawing. I’m now checking the 50 signal pins plus the 2 weld-tab pads against the recommended layout.

Part Review - TFM-125-01-L-D-WT

View Document

Reviewed available part information for the published Flux part TFM-125-01-L-D-WT against the Samtec TFM datasheet and Samtec product page. ...
Completed the part review and created the full report: Part Review - TFM-125-01-L-D-WT.
Key findings: MPN/manufacturer/pin count match the Samtec datasheet, and the Datasheet URL was already populated so I did not replace it. Major issues flagged: Mount should be Through Hole not Surface Mount, the description wording is misleading, pin metadata/descriptions are missing, and the footprint pads appear scaled ~1000× too small instead of real Ø0.635 mm signal PTH and Ø0.84 mm weld-tab PTH holes.
Suggested next steps:
  • Fix metadata: Mount, description, pin descriptions/types.
  • Correct the footprint pad geometry and PTH definitions.
  • Re-run part checks/DRC after footprint correction.

Part Review - TFM-125-01-L-D-WT
Scope
Reviewed available part information for the published Flux part TFM-125-01-L-D-WT against the Samtec TFM datasheet and Samtec product page.
Existing Flux part information
  • Project / part name: TFM-125-01-L-D-WT
  • Manufacturer Part Number: TFM-125-01-L-D-WT
  • Manufacturer Name: Samtec
  • Part Type: Connectors
  • Designator Prefix: J
  • Mount property: Surface Mount
  • Datasheet URL property: https://storage.googleapis.com/graviton-electric-symbols/document_assets/user-uploaded/a7b27ec1d1fadb2443687a1784f27bd6db44e765e3e93de5c68d1a2ff1a81e31.pdf
  • Project description: Samtec TFM, 1.27mm Pitch, 50 Way, 2 Row PCB Terminal Block Header, Surface Mount, Through Hole

  • PCB layout nodes: 52 pads, 1 footprint, 2 line shapes, 3 text shapes. Board setup reports copperLayers=0.
The datasheet URL was already populated, so I did not replace it. Web search found the official Samtec product page at https://www.samtec.com/products/tfm-125-01-l-d-wt and an official Samtec TFM PDF/catalog page at https://suddendocs.samtec.com/catalog_english/tfm.pdf.
Datasheet-backed key specs
  • Series / family: Samtec TFM Tiger Eye, .050 in x .050 in terminal strip / shrouded box header.
  • Configured MPN: TFM-125-01-L-D-WT.
  • Positions: 25 positions per row.
  • Rows: Double row (-D).
  • Signal contact count: 50 electrical contacts.
  • Additional mechanical pads: 2 weld tabs for -WT option.
  • Total physical PCB holes/pads expected: 52 = 50 signal PTH + 2 weld-tab PTH.
  • Pitch: 1.27 mm / 0.050 in along the row and 1.27 mm / 0.050 in row-to-row.
  • Lead style: -01 = vertical through-hole.
  • Plating: -L = 15 µin selective gold on contact area, matte tin tail.
  • Signal hole: Ø0.0250 in / Ø0.635 mm PTH.
  • Weld-tab hole: Ø0.033 in / Ø0.84 mm PTH.
  • Contact system: 0.018 in / 0.46 mm diameter post.
  • Current rating: 3.7 A max.
  • Voltage rating: 250 VAC / 354 VDC max.
  • Performance: up to 8 Gbps, per Samtec product page.
  • Insulator: LCP, UL 94 V-0, black.
  • Terminal material: Phosphor bronze.
  • Operating temperature: Not found in the extracted PDF text.
Pin numbering check
Datasheet numbering for the double-row 25-position part is:
  • Position 1: pins 1 and 2.
  • Position 2: pins 3 and 4.
  • Continues by column down the connector.
  • Position 25: pins 49 and 50.
Flux schematic terminal numbering matches this pattern:
  • Odd pins 1, 3, 5 ... 49 are placed on one side/row.
  • Even pins 2, 4, 6 ... 50 are placed on the opposite side/row.
  • MH1/MH2 are modeled as pin numbers 51/52, corresponding to the two weld-tab/mechanical pads.
This is acceptable if Flux requires mechanical holes to be represented as terminals, but MH1/MH2 should be clearly described as weld tabs/mechanical mounting pads, not signal contacts.
Footprint check
What matches
  • The footprint has 52 pad nodes, matching 50 signal contacts plus 2 weld tabs.
  • Pin 1 is distinguished with a rectangular pad shape.
  • Silkscreen/body outline dimensions appear plausibly scaled around the expected connector body length and width.
Major mismatch: pad geometry scale and PTH modeling
The pad computed rules are not consistent with the datasheet:
  • Signal pad pitch in the layout is reported as 0.00127 mm, but datasheet pitch is 1.27 mm.
  • Signal pad size is reported as 0.001 mm, but signal holes should be Ø0.635 mm PTH, with annular copper pads around the drill.
  • Weld-tab pad size is reported as 0.001365 mm, but weld-tab holes should be Ø0.84 mm PTH.
  • MH1/MH2 positions are similarly scaled down by about 1000x relative to their expected millimeter locations.
  • Board setup reports copperLayers=0, which is suspicious for a footprint with plated through-hole pads.
This strongly suggests the footprint pads were entered with a unit/scale error: the pad/hole coordinates and sizes are approximately 1000x too small. The silkscreen appears to be roughly correct, so the error may be isolated to the pad rule values rather than the entire footprint.

Footprint pitch/holes0.00127 mm pitch, 0.001 mm signal pad size1.27 mm pitch, Ø0.635 mm signal PTH, Ø0.84 mm weld-tab PTHMajor mismatch
  1. Change Mount from Surface Mount to Through Hole.
  2. Update the description to remove “Surface Mount” and avoid “terminal block”; recommended wording: Samtec TFM Tiger Eye 1.27 mm pitch 50-position dual-row vertical through-hole shrouded header with weld tabs.
  3. Add pin descriptions:
    • Pins 1-50: Contact 1 ... Contact 50 or row/position-aware descriptions.
    • MH1/MH2: Weld tab / mechanical mounting pad.
  4. Set electrical contacts to a passive/connector pin type if supported; mark MH1/MH2 as mechanical/no-connect/excluded where appropriate.
  5. Rebuild or correct the footprint pad geometry:
    • 1.27 mm pitch in X and Y.
    • 50 signal PTH holes at Ø0.635 mm.
    • 2 weld-tab PTH holes at Ø0.84 mm.
    • Add real annular copper pad diameters and confirm connected layers for through-hole plating.
  6. Verify the corrected footprint visually and with DRC after the pad rule scale is fixed.
