Part Audit Review

Review all available part information (MPN, package, pin count, description, properties). If no datasheet URL is already set, search the web for the official datasheet and update the part's Datasheet property with the URL. Then cross-check the schematic symbol, footprint, and pin descriptions against the datasheet. Summarize key specs and flag any mismatches.
I’ll audit the part metadata, locate and attach the official datasheet if needed, then verify the symbol, footprint, and pin mapping against it.

Part Audit Report Part reviewed
  • MPN: KP0115ACBKG03RGBP-2SJB
  • Manufacturer: NKK Switches
  • Description: Illuminated SPST-NO momentary pushbutton, tactile, through-hole, RGB common-anode LED, 15 mm square cap assembly
  • Electrical terminals: 6 (2 switch contacts + 4 RGB LED terminals)
  • Mechanical locating holes: 4 additional non-plated holes in the footprint
  • Mount: Through hole
  • Configured designator prefix: S
Authoritative references
Audit complete. The six electrical pins and main footprint geometry match NKK documentation, but I flagged incorrect IC/AND classification, missing pin types/descriptions, A1 versus datasheet 1a, and a Datasheet URL that points to Digi-Key rather than an official PDF; it was not changed because the property was already populated.
Full specifications and findings: Part Audit Report.

The existing Datasheet URL property is populated, so it was not changed. It currently points to a Digi-Key product page rather than a PDF datasheet: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/nkk-switches/KP0115ACBKG03RGBP-2SJB/9463448

Symbol findings
  • The symbol exposes all six electrical terminals, so the electrical pin count is correct.
  • All terminal Pin Type properties are Unspecified; passive pin types would be more accurate for the switch and LED terminals.
  • No Pin Description properties are populated.
  • The symbol is only a set of terminals and does not graphically show the SPST-NO switch or the three common-anode LEDs. This is electrically usable but less clear than a functional switch/RGB symbol.
  • The datasheet marks the normally-open terminal as 1a; the project stores it as A1. The function is correct, but the identifier should ideally match the physical marking exactly.
Footprint cross-check
The footprint has six plated through-hole electrical pads and four non-plated locating holes.
Electrical pads
  • Switch pads are spaced 7.62 mm apart and use 0.9 mm drills, matching the NKK PCB layout.
  • RGB LED pads use 0.7 mm drills and the observed 1.52 mm / 3.82 mm geometry is consistent with the NKK terminal detail.
  • Pad 1 is rectangular, providing a useful orientation marker.
Mechanical locating holes
  • Four NPTH holes are positioned on a 12.7 mm × 12.7 mm pattern, matching the datasheet.
  • They use 1.3 mm drills, matching the nominal NKK hole diameter. Because the footprint hole equals the nominal pin/hole dimension, manufacturing tolerance should be checked; a small clearance allowance may be preferable depending on the switch's locating-post tolerance and PCB fabricator drill tolerance.
Outline and model
  • The footprint outline is 15 mm square, consistent with the 2 cap-size designation.
  • The footprint includes a STEP model. Its physical alignment was not dimensionally validated from the available text extraction; copper and drilled geometry remain the manufacturing source of truth.
Metadata mismatches and omissions
High priority
  1. Library classification is contradictory. Search metadata classifies the part as Integrated Circuits / Logic with logic function AND, while the explicit Part Type property correctly says Electromechanical Components. The IC/AND classification is incorrect.
  2. Manufacturer indexing is contradictory. Search metadata reports manufacturer Other, while the explicit Manufacturer Name property correctly says NKK Switches.
Medium priority
  1. Datasheet URL is not a datasheet. The property points to a Digi-Key product page, not an official PDF. The official NKK Series KP PDF is the preferred value.
  2. Package/case property is missing. Mount is present as Through Hole, but there is no useful package/case identifier describing the KP01 15 mm square through-hole assembly.
  3. Pin descriptions and electrical types are missing. Every terminal is Unspecified and lacks a description.
  4. Terminal 1a is represented as A1. This does not match the marking and terminology in the NKK drawing.
Low priority / clarity
  1. Symbol lacks functional graphics. It does not visually communicate SPST-NO operation or common-anode RGB topology.
  2. Description could identify the RGB topology and cap size. The current description is broadly correct but omits common-anode RGB and the 15 mm square cap assembly.
Overall result
The six-terminal electrical mapping and principal footprint geometry appear consistent with the NKK documentation. The largest issues are metadata classification, the non-PDF datasheet link, absent pin descriptions/types, and symbol clarity. The 1.3 mm locating holes deserve a tolerance check before production.
