PCB and Enclosure Design

Briefly describe what it's like to design a complete product in Flux. Help me understand what the PCB-first and enclosure-first design workflows are like to work with.
Designing a complete product in Flux is an iterative loop: define requirements, develop the electronics and mechanical design, check how they fit together, then prepare for prototyping and manufacturing.
  • PCB-first: Start with circuitry, component selection, and board layout, then design the enclosure around the board and its connectors. This works well when electrical performance or an existing PCB drives the product. The tradeoff is that the enclosure may need to accommodate a larger or less convenient board shape.
  • Enclosure-first: Start with the product’s size, appearance, mounting, and user-facing ports, then design the PCB to fit that space. This works well for handheld devices or products with strict physical constraints. The tradeoff is tighter component placement and routing, sometimes requiring multiple boards.
Neither workflow is strictly one-way—you iterate between board and enclosure to resolve connector access, mounting, heat, and assembly.
I haven’t changed your project; this was an overview only. Execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.
