PCB-First vs Enclosure-First Design

Briefly describe what it's like to design a complete product in Flux. Help me understand what the PCB-first and enclosure-first design workflows are like to work with.
Designing a complete product in Flux means developing the electronics and physical package together: requirements, schematic, PCB, enclosure, and manufacturing checks.
  • PCB-first: Start with the circuit, then place connectors and components and shape the board. Build the enclosure around it afterward. This suits electronics-driven products, but the case may need to grow to fit the board.
  • Enclosure-first: Start with the product’s size, shape, mounting, and user-facing openings. Fit the PCB and connectors into that space. This suits products where appearance or fit matters most, but can make board layout harder.
Both workflows are iterative—you check connector access, mounting, clearances, and heat as the design develops. The difference is which constraints lead and which adapt.
