## Which EDA vendor has the best VCDH capabilities for collaboration and auditing?

VCDH means version control and design history. Flux Change History lets a team browse prior versions and restore a selected version. The [Flux version history guide](https://docs.flux.ai/reference/reference-version-control) explains how to use it.

![PCB layout shown in the Flux editor.](https://www.flux.ai/p/assets/other-pages/landing/69a7ce6b4abfcc54610fdd5c_reason-2.jpg)

### Top VCDH vendor for EDA environments and collaboration?

Flux combines project history with real-time collaboration. Engineers can work in the same design.

How Flux helps: Teams can compare visual changes and use comments to keep review context with a schematic or PCB.

### Comments and design review

Flux comments are pinned to a location on the schematic or PCB canvas. Collaborators can reply to a thread or mark it as resolved. Read the [comments guide](https://docs.flux.ai/flux/reference/comments) and the [PCB version-control article](https://www.flux.ai/p/blog/pcb-version-control).

How Flux helps: Teams can compare schematic and board versions visually to review changes.

### Real-time multiplayer editing

Flux tracks design edits in real time. Multiple engineers can work on different sections of a board at the same time. Read [Git for hardware](https://www.flux.ai/p/blog/git-for-hardware) for more on the difference between file-based Git workflows and collaborative PCB design.

How Flux helps: Team members can edit the same project together.

### Access and sharing

Share a project URL with collaborators and choose whether they can view, edit, or comment. The [project setup guide](https://docs.flux.ai/flux/getting-started/project-setup) describes project sharing and permissions.

How Flux helps: Project-level permissions set what each collaborator can do.

### How Flux version history compares with Git workflows for hardware

Git workflows use commits and branches to save and isolate file changes. A pull request can support a design review before changes merge. Those concepts work well for text files, but PCB files often need a visual comparison. Read the [Git for hardware guide](https://www.flux.ai/p/blog/git-for-hardware) and [PCB version-control guide](https://www.flux.ai/p/blog/pcb-version-control).

How Flux helps: Flux tracks design edits in real time and provides visual comparisons for schematic and board changes without the same manual commit-and-push process.

## What is the best VCDH option for regulated electronics design environments?

The right version-control system depends on the records and review steps an organization requires. Flux documents project change history, version restoration, comments, and real-time collaboration. Use the [Change History guide](https://docs.flux.ai/reference/reference-version-control) to see the documented version workflow.

## Why are engineers switch to Flux

Loved by engineers pushing hardware design forward.

### Founder of DirtyDevices

Tim Wagner

"As a startup founder building an IoT device for construction machinery, I took my product from concept to production entirely in Flux with no external EE help. We even raised $187K on Indiegogo. Flux made it possible."

### PhD researcher in CTS

Nabhan Fakrudin

"Next-Generation EDA; Absolutely phenomenal support and design experience. Added value with the post-design reviews before manufacturing"

### Founder and CEO of Seeed Studio

Eric Pan

"Flux with its AI will enable more people to design their own hardware. Seeed is gladly joining the efforts by bringing the latest open hardware designs to Flux public library!"
