### Basic boards.

Flux helps you build simple sensor boards, LED controllers, breakouts, and basic microcontroller products that fit comfortably on two layers.

Example **NF-Dual Output Buck**

[View Project](https://flux.ai/fatenerris/nf-dual-output-buck~cf)

 ![](https://www.flux.ai/p/assets/homepage-v2/tier-intermediate.webp)

### Intermediate designs.

Flux works great for compact microcontroller boards, connected sensors, mixed-signal controllers, and general embedded products.

Example **Modern Distortion Effects Pedal**

 ![](https://www.flux.ai/p/assets/homepage-v2/tier-advanced.webp)

### Advanced products.

Flux excels at compact designs with fine-pitch components and dense routing, such as wearables, processor boards, and camera or display electronics.

Example **ESP32 x86 PC**

## Flux is your AI hardware engineer.

Brainstorm Tell Flux what you're trying to build and why. It asks questions, researches the approach with you, and turns the conversation into a real plan. Design Flux transforms the project plan into a working schematic, lays out components, and tests the design against engineering rules. Make Flux shows you what each part costs and how long it takes to arrive, then packages all files according to manufacturer specifications.

## Take the hard out of hardware.

Flux does the engineering work that normally makes hardware hard.

Flux catches issues in real time by continuously running electrical and design rule checks. It grounds its decisions in the actual parts by reading datasheets. It handles the details – sizing passives, I²C pull-ups, and decoupling caps. Flux works dynamically instead of following a rigid plan, re-evaluating work after each step and course correcting.

Now validating:

- Schematic legibility
- Electrical rule check
- Design rule check

## Frequently asked questions

### What kinds of boards can I design in Flux?

Flux supports professional multi-layer PCBs up to eight layers used in IoT devices, wearables, and robotics. Built to go all the way from prototype to production. [Featured projects](https://www.flux.ai/p/projects)

### Can I import projects from Altium, Cadence, or KiCad?

Yes — schematics from Altium (ASCII) and Cadence (EDIF) import into Flux; KiCad part libraries can be imported to bring your components across. Layout import isn’t supported yet.

Importing projects from:

- [Eagle to Flux](https://docs.flux.ai/Introduction/eagle-to-flux---migration-guide)
- [Upverter to Flux](https://docs.flux.ai/Introduction/upverter-to-flux)
- [KiCAD to Flux](https://docs.flux.ai/Introduction/kicad-to-flux)

- [EasyEDA to Flux](https://docs.flux.ai/Introduction/easyeda-to-flux)

### Can I export for manufacturing?

Yes. Flux exports Gerbers, drill files, BoM, pick-and-place, and standard netlists for fabrication and downstream tools. [Exporting projects](https://docs.flux.ai/Introduction/getting-started-in-flux-manufacturing)

### Is my data secure?

Yes. Flux encrypts data in transit and at rest and runs on SOC-2–aligned, cloud-native infrastructure with SSO and project-level permissions. Read more about [privacy statement.](https://docs.flux.ai/legal/privacy-statement)

### How capable is the AI — and what are its limits?

Flux is an AI hardware engineer that works alongside you — powerful, transparent, and collaborative. It explains changes, shows reasoning, and checks in before key steps.

### How does Flux perform in the browser?

Flux is built to feel like a desktop-class tool without installs: large, multi-layer designs run smoothly in a modern browser, with real-time collaboration built in. Learn how to [setup your browser](https://docs.flux.ai/Introduction/set-up-your-browser) to ensure the best possible experience.

### How much does Flux cost?
