Flux for electronics design

# Meet Flux, your team's AI electronics engineer.

Flux draws the schematic, routes the board, and writes the firmware, and checks its own work in simulation before you order boards.

### Writes and tests the firmware

Firmware for the board it designed, for example Arm Cortex-M, RISC-V, AVR, or Pico, then built, analyzed, and unit tested.

Adaptive model selection

### Gets the best from every frontier model

Frontier performance at 30% lower cost. Adaptive model selection gives each task to the right model.

Parallel AI engineers

### Splits big jobs across parallel AI engineers

Give one request. Flux plans the work, runs parts of it at the same time, and reports back.

Workflow

## From requirement to a board you can order, Flux does the electronics work.

1. ### Start from real parts

Every part comes with its symbol, footprint, and 3D model. Flux reads the datasheet and checks live stock and pricing before it picks a part. Your Altium, KiCad, Eagle, and EasyEDA libraries become Flux parts too.

    734,000+ public parts

![Flux bill of materials with component names, prices, and availability](https://www.flux.ai/p/assets/homepage-v2/teams-bom-stock-pricing.webp)

2. ### Schematic and layout

Flux draws the schematic, then places and routes the board in the same project.

One platform

## One AI engineer. Every engineering discipline.

Flux is not a collection of disconnected CAD applications. It is one AI-native engineering platform where every discipline shares the same project, the same data, and the same AI engineer.

Collaboration

## Your team, your partners, and your AI engineers in one live project.

Flux runs in the browser. Everyone opens the same project, sees the same live design, and works on it at the same time. No files to send back and forth.

- ### Edit together in real time.

Engineers, reviewers, and AI engineers work in the same project at the same time. You see who is in the project and what they have selected.

- ### Every change is saved.

Flux records each change, who made it, and when. Open any earlier version, or restore it as a new project.

- ### One shared space for your organization.

Your organization's projects, parts, and design standards live in one place. Give the whole organization view, comment, or edit access.

- ### Work with suppliers, clients, and contractors.

Invite anyone to one project by email, with view, comment, or edit access. They get that project, not the rest of your organization.

- ### Review where the design is.

Comment in the project and @mention a teammate. The discussion stays with the design.

- ### Try ideas without risk.

Fork a project to test an idea. The main design does not change.

Customizable

## Learns your team's rules and follows them on every project.

Every team builds hardware its own way. Teach Flux your standards, connect it to your tools, and let it build the small apps each project needs.

### Team knowledge

Onboard Flux like a new engineer. Write your design guidelines, preferred parts, and lessons learned once, and every AI engineer in your organization applies them on every project.

### Your rules

Define your layout rules and manufacturer capabilities once. Flux checks every design against them, every time.

### Your tools, connected

Connect any MCP server, or give Flux a key to any web API. Push firmware to your repository, read crash reports from devices in the field, or use the tools your team built itself.

### Keys stay secret

Admins add API keys once for the whole organization. The AI engineer uses them but never sees them. Flux adds each key only to requests sent to the services you allow.

### Interactive pages

Ask for a one-off tool, and Flux builds it as a live page in the project: a power budget calculator that updates as parts change, a bring-up checklist that tracks progress, or a test report with charts.

### Flux in your AI tools

Use Flux from Cursor or any general AI agent that supports its tools. Your agents can read and edit Flux projects and hand design jobs to the Flux AI engineer.

Connects to the services your team already uses.

## Questions electronics teams ask.

### Can we import our existing Altium, Cadence, or KiCad projects?

Yes. Flux imports complete projects from Altium, Cadence OrCAD and Allegro, KiCad, Siemens PADS and Xpedition, Zuken CADSTAR, Eagle, and EasyEDA. You can export your work back out at any time.

### How does the part library work?

Each part comes with its symbol, footprint, and 3D model. Flux checks live stock and pricing before it picks a part. Your own Altium, KiCad, Eagle, and EasyEDA libraries become Flux parts too.

### Does Flux route the board?

Yes. Flux does placement, routing, stackups, and design rule checks, and your engineers can change any of it by hand.

### Which electrical simulations does Flux run?

Circuit simulation on the schematic, and electromagnetic and thermal simulation on the routed board.

### Does Flux write firmware?

Yes. Flux writes firmware for the microcontrollers on the board it designed, for example Arm Cortex-M, RISC-V, AVR, and Raspberry Pi Pico. Then it builds, analyzes, and unit tests the code.

### How is Flux different from using Claude or Codex?

Claude and Codex are general AI agents. They can write code, but they cannot see your schematic or board, run engineering simulation, or check live part prices and stock. Flux runs the same frontier models inside a complete electronics design environment, in projects that your whole team shares.

### Which AI models does Flux use?

Frontier models from OpenAI and Anthropic. Adaptive model selection gives each task to the model that does it best, at 30% lower cost than using the top model for everything.

### Is our design data secure?

Flux runs on SOC 2-aligned cloud infrastructure, with single sign-on and project-level permissions. Your inputs and outputs are always your IP, and Flux does not train on customer data.

### Can we teach Flux our design standards?

Yes. Write your design guidelines, preferred parts, and rules once, and every AI engineer in your organization applies them. You can also connect your own tools through MCP.

### How much does it cost?

The same Teams plan as /p/teams: $500 a month with shared seats and AI usage units. One plan covers mechanical, electronics, and firmware work.
