Flux Product Design

Briefly describe what it's like to design a complete product in Flux. Help me understand what the PCB-first and enclosure-first design workflows are like to work with.
Designing a complete product in Flux is an iterative workflow where the electronics, PCB, firmware, and enclosure stay together in one project.
  • PCB-first: Define requirements and interfaces, design and verify the schematic, lay out and route the PCB, then create an enclosure around the finished board. This is usually best when electrical performance, connector selection, or rapid board prototyping drives the product.
  • Enclosure-first: Establish the product’s external form, controls, ports, mounting, and internal volume first. Then shape and place the PCB to fit those mechanical constraints. This is best when ergonomics, appearance, installation, or strict physical dimensions drive the design.
In either workflow, Flux can support component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, design checks, 3D enclosure work, manufacturing outputs, firmware documentation, and bring-up planning. You typically approve major transitions—especially schematic to layout—while smaller corrections can be iterated continuously.
