Global Yo Discount Code EDC15: A Plain Reference on Limits and Unknowns
Global Yo discount code EDC15 gives 15% off all eSIM data plans, applied as a percentage to the plan price at checkout. This reference sets out what the code covers, where it is typed, and which points the published terms leave open, so you can check them before paying.
What the code covers
Global Yo is a travel eSIM provider selling prepaid mobile data plans for use abroad. Plans are offered for a single country, for a group of countries in a region, or as global packages. The 15% applies to both single-country and regional plans. Country plans start from around $2.19 for the cheapest markets, and the price per GB is displayed for each plan. No unlimited data plans are offered, so the discount applies to fixed data packages only.
The discount is a percentage of the plan price. It does not apply to in-app wallet credit or to a rewards balance, so if you pay partly from those, the 15% is worked out on the plan price, not on the credit.
Entering the code
The code is typed by hand. It is not applied by a link, and it is not stored on your account, so you must enter it again on each order. The field sits on the checkout or order summary screen, often collapsed behind a 'Promo code' or 'Have a discount code?' link.
The steps, as published, are:
- Open globalyo.com or the Global YO app on iOS or Android.
- Search a destination or pick a regional or global plan from the destination picker.
- Choose the data amount and validity, then continue to the order summary.
- Tap the collapsed 'Promo code' row to open the text input.
- Type EDC15 in capitals, with no leading or trailing spaces, and press Apply.
- Confirm that a discount line with a minus sign appears and that the total drops by 15%.
- Pay by card or app checkout. Apply the code before switching to Apple Pay or Google Pay.
If the discount line does not appear, do not pay until you have checked the spelling and the spacing. The code cannot be added to a completed order afterwards.
What happens after payment
The QR code is delivered immediately by email and in the app. There is no physical delivery. Purchased eSIMs are listed in the app's 'My eSIMs' area. You can install the eSIM directly, or scan the QR code while you are on Wi-Fi at home. Plans can be scheduled to activate on a specific date or activated manually on arrival.
The device must support eSIM and must be carrier-unlocked. Data roaming must be enabled on the Global YO profile to connect abroad. The install routes differ by phone. On Android the path is Settings, Connections, SIM card manager, Add eSIM, then scan the QR code. On iPhone it is under Cellular or Mobile Data, then Add eSIM.
Limits and unknowns
The plans are prepaid and data-only. There is no subscription and no auto-renewal. There are no voice calls or SMS from a local number. Plans expire at the end of the validity window, and unused data does not carry over, so the value of the 15% depends on how much of the plan you use.
Several points are not stated in the published terms. Whether checkout allows the plans of several travellers on one order, or requires a separate order for each person, is not confirmed and should be checked on the site. No competitors are named in the material available, so no price comparison with other providers is made here. The terms do not state how a refund would apply to a discounted order, so read the site's own policy before buying.
If a point is not listed in the terms shown on the site, treat it as open until you have confirmed it there.
