Cloudways Promo Code WELCOME25: An Afternoon Spent on One Server Setup
Cloudways promo code WELCOME25 gives a 25% discount for the first month, and this article follows one afternoon of setting up a single server to show where the code goes and what to check before the first billing cycle closes.
Before you start
Set aside a block of time and have a project in mind. The knowledge describes Cloudways as a managed cloud hosting platform aimed at WordPress, WooCommerce, Magento, Laravel and plain PHP stacks, so decide which application you will run, because you choose it during the launch step. You also choose an underlying cloud provider. The backends listed are DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, AWS and Google Cloud. Exact server plan prices are not given in the knowledge, so check the Cloudways pricing page before you commit to a size.
Account creation and the code field
Create the account on the Cloudways website using an email address and basic details. If the signup form shows a promo or referral field, type WELCOME25 into it. The code is usually treated as case-sensitive and a trailing space can cause it to fail, so enter it exactly as written with no extra spaces. If no such field appears, open the account or billing settings in the dashboard and enter WELCOME25 in the promotional codes field there.
Verification and launching the server
Cloudways may ask for phone or card verification before servers can be launched. The knowledge describes these requests as anti-abuse screening rather than a charge, so a verification prompt on its own is not a payment. Once verified, launch the server by choosing the application, cloud provider, server size and data centre. Cloudways typically offers a short free trial that allows deployment before any card charge. If you use the trial, the promo code must be on the account when the trial converts to paid, so keep it in place from the start.
Checking the bill before the cycle closes
Open the billing section before the cycle closes and confirm that the 25% reduction appears. Billing runs monthly and is based on the servers and add-ons running in the account. Bandwidth and storage overages are billed separately from the base server price on most plans. Add-ons such as Cloudflare Enterprise integration, object storage and email are billed on top of the server, and backups are usually a small per-server monthly charge. The knowledge does not state which resources are metered for bandwidth and storage overages, and it does not say whether the 25% reduction applies to every line, so read each line on the invoice rather than assuming.
What the afternoon does not settle
The discount applies to the first month only, and standard rates apply from the second invoice. The code must be applied before the first billing cycle completes. Codes added after an invoice has been generated generally cannot be applied retroactively, so the entry step needs to happen early. Cloudways does not provide root access to servers and does not include email hosting, although email is available as an add-on. These limits do not change the code itself, but they shape what a first month on the platform can be used for.
