- Placement density: low; total component footprint area is approximately 840 mm², about 5.3% of board area.
Placement status
AI placement was completed for the single-channel Universal Input design.
Functional placement intent applied:
- J1 universal input field connector placed on the left board edge.
- J10 and J9 controller/programming headers placed along the top edge.
- U1 LM76202 field/power protection section grouped with C27, C22, R31, R32, R33, R34, R35, R36, and C26.
- D1 TVS clamp placed close to the field connector side of the input path.
- UI1 scaling/filter network R1-R5, C6, and C10 grouped between field input/protection and U6.
- U6 CD4066 mode switch placed between the field/scaling network and U2 AD7708.
- U2 AD7708 analog area grouped with IC1 reference, Y1 crystal, crystal load capacitors, ADC decoupling, and filter capacitors.
- U3 LM2903 comparator grouped with the digital threshold/sense network.
- U4 74HC595 placed near J10 and the mode-control routing area.
- U10 regulator grouped with its input/output capacitors.

Routing is not complete. The remaining blocker is physical trace routing for the 89 airwires. The current environment did not expose an automatic PCB trace-routing action, so component placement and validation were completed, but physical autorouting could not be executed from this run.
Recommended next routing order when routing is available:
- Route power and ground-related nets first: FIELD_24V_IN, FIELD_24V_PROT, 5V_IN, 3V3, GND, LM76202 support nets.
- Route quiet analog/reference/clock nets next: UI1_ADC, 2V5_REF, ADC_XTAL1, ADC_XTAL2, DIG_THRESHOLD.
