Project Issues and Solutions

Here’s a concise, datasheet-backed passive list (values and connections) for your regulator U6 and current sensors U1, U2, U3, U4. No inductors are required by the datasheets; I include an optional ferrite bead for rail quieting.

4Local decoupling for U1 to U40.1 µF, X7R, ≥50 V, 0805GRM21BR71H104KA01LOne per sensor between VCC (on Net 5) and GND. Place as close as possible to each IC.Allegro ACS759: “0.1 µF bypass capacitor (CBYP) between the VCC and GND pins.”
1LM7805 input bypass at U6 when far from source0.22 µF, X7RCC0603KRX7R8BB224Between U6 VI (Net 1) and GND, close to the regulator.TI LM7805: “If the device is more than six inches from the power supply filter, it is required to employ input capacitor.” The datasheet characterizes with “0.22‑uF capacitor from input to ground.”
1LM7805 output bypass for transients0.1 µF, X7RGRM21BR71H104KA01LBetween U6 VO (Net 5) and GND, close to the regulator.TI LM7805: “A 0.1‑uF output capacitor is recommended to help with transient response.” Also: “It is not necessary to bypass the output, although this does improve transient response.”
1–2Bulk on 5 V rail for load steps10 µF, ≥10 V (tantalum or ceramic)T491B106K016ATFrom Net 5 to GND near U6 and/or at the sensor cluster.Best practice for bulk decoupling; select voltage rating per derating rules below.

Practical notes and constraints
  • Voltage ratings and derating:
    • Follow: “ensure [capacitors] operate at no more than 60% of their maximum rated voltage.” On a 5 V rail use ≥10 V rating for ceramics; the 16 V tantalum above is fine.
    • For tantalum bulk, keep operating voltage ≤50% of rated and check surge.
  • Placement:
    • Put each 0.1 µF decoupler directly at the IC VCC–GND pins with minimum loop area.
    • Keep the LM7805 input/output capacitors right at U6 pins.
  • ACS759 output filter sizing:
    • Choose CF by bandwidth needs. A simple RC corner is fc = 1/(2π·Rsource·CF). Start with CF = 1 nF and adjust after measuring noise vs. response.
  • LM7805 protection:
    • If you add large output bulk, TI notes: “In cases when VIN shorts to ground, an external diode must be placed from VOUT to VIN to divert the surge current from the output capacitor and protect the IC.” Consider a fast diode from VO to VI near U6 if your environment risks input collapse.
If you want, I can add these parts to the schematic and wire them to U1–U4, U6, and J6.
