PCB-First vs Enclosure-First Design

Briefly describe what it's like to design a complete product in Flux. Help me understand what the PCB-first and enclosure-first design workflows are like to work with.
Designing a complete product in Flux means developing the electronics and mechanical packaging together—moving from requirements through schematic, PCB layout, enclosure, and manufacturing files, with checks along the way.
  • PCB-first: Start with the circuit, place connectors and components, then shape an enclosure around the board. This works well when electrical performance drives the product, though the enclosure may need to accommodate the board’s size and layout.
  • Enclosure-first: Start with the product’s shape, mounting, controls, and connector access, then design the PCB to fit. This works well when appearance or a fixed space drives the product, but tighter packaging can make placement and routing harder.
In practice, both are iterative: you establish the most important constraints first, then refine the board and enclosure together. I haven’t changed your project; execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.
