Procedamos por partes según lo planteado:
  1. Invertir la señal C:
    Conecta la señal C a una compuerta NAND con sus dos entradas unidas para obtener

  2. Invertir la señal D:
    De forma similar, conecta la señal D a una compuerta NAND con ambas entradas iguales:

  3. Combinar /C y /D con NAND:
    Al alimentar /C y /D a una compuerta NAND de 2 entradas se obtiene:

    Utilizando las leyes de De Morgan, se tiene que

    Así, W equivale a la suma lógica de C y D.
  4. Combinar W con la señal B mediante NOR:
    Usa una compuerta NOR de 2 entradas para combinar B y W:
    X=NOR(B, W)= B+W‾= B+(C+D)‾=B+C+D‾\Large X = \text{NOR}(B,\, W) = \overline{\,B + W} = \overline{\,B + (C + D)} = \overline{B + C + D}
  5. Invertir X con una NAND (configurada como inversor):
    Finalmente, conecta X a una nueva compuerta NAND, vinculando ambas entradas a X:
    LED=NAND(X, X)=X‾=B+C+D‾‾=B+C+D\Large LED = \text{NAND}(X,\, X) = \overline{X} = \overline{\overline{B + C + D}} = B + C + D
De esta manera, el resultado final es que el LED se activará cuando se cumpla la condición:
LED=B+C+D\Large LED = B + C + D
Esta secuencia de pasos permite obtener la función OR de las señales B, C y D utilizando únicamente compuertas NAND (en forma de inversores) y una compuerta NOR, sin emplear dispositivos de 3 entradas.
