PCB-First vs Enclosure-First Design

Briefly describe what it's like to design a complete product in Flux. Help me understand what the PCB-first and enclosure-first design workflows are like to work with.
Designing a complete product in Flux means working through the electronics, PCB, enclosure, and manufacturing checks together—iterating as electrical and mechanical constraints meet.
  • PCB-first: Start with the circuit, place connectors and components, then shape an enclosure around the board. This is natural for electronics-led prototypes: you prioritize electrical performance, but the case may end up larger or less polished.
  • Enclosure-first: Start with the product’s size, shape, mounting, and user-facing ports, then design the PCB to fit. This suits handheld or space-constrained products, but makes component placement and routing more constrained.
Either way, expect back-and-forth rather than a strictly linear process. I haven’t changed your project this session; execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.
