Part Verification Review
Scope
Review of project part 918-318K2023F40003 (LCSC C168691) covering metadata, schematic terminals, and PCB footprint.
Source status
  • The project already contains the official LCSC datasheet URL: https://www.lcsc.com/datasheet/C168691.pdf?....
  • Automated retrieval of that URL was blocked because the endpoint did not return PDF content to the datasheet reader. Exact drawing tolerances therefore remain unverified from the PDF.
  • The LCSC product listing and independent distributor listings consistently identify the exact part as a Jing Extension / 精拓金 USB Type-C receptacle, 24 contacts, SMD, one port.

Schematic symbol review
The symbol contains all 24 standard USB Type-C contacts plus 4 shield/chassis terminals. Pin numbers map one-to-one to footprint pads.
The terminal metadata was corrected during this review:
  • A1/A12/B1/B12: GND
  • A4/A9/B4/B9: VBUS
  • A5/B5: CC1/CC2
  • A6/B6: D+
  • A7/B7: D−
  • A8/B8: SBU1/SBU2
  • A2/A3 and B2/B3: SuperSpeed TX pairs
  • A10/A11 and B10/B11: SuperSpeed RX pairs
  • Four pin-0 terminals: connector shield/chassis mounting tabs
All contacts now have a Pin Description, Pin Group, Terminal Order, and valid electrical Pin Type.
Footprint review
Current footprint inventory:
  • 24 rectangular SMT signal pads, A1–A12 and B1–B12
  • 4 plated through-hole shell/mounting tabs, pad number 0
  • 2 non-electrical locating holes
Observed signal-pad geometry:
  • 0.5 mm contact pitch
  • 0.25 mm × 0.95 mm signal pads
  • Two staggered contact rows
This topology agrees with the listing description of a 24-pin, dual-row SMT USB Type-C receptacle with four board-retention tabs and locating posts. The exact pad, hole, and outline tolerances could not be certified because the official PDF was inaccessible to automated retrieval.
Mismatches and risks
  1. Package-name mismatch — confirmed: USB-C-SMD_TYPE-C-USB-16 is misleading for this 24-contact part. The actual pad count is correct, so this is a metadata/asset naming defect rather than evidence of a 16-pin land pattern.
  2. Datasheet evidence limitation: exact footprint tolerances, shell-tab dimensions, connector height, and material/test ratings remain unverified from the official drawing.
  3. Shield numbering: all four shell tabs use pin number 0. This is electrically usable, but users should intentionally connect them to chassis/shield or ground according to product EMC strategy.
  4. 3 A / 5 V interpretation: these are connector listing ratings, not a guarantee that any attached system may draw 3 A without USB-C CC/PD negotiation and suitable power-path design.
Result
The electrical contact count and standard USB-C pin mapping are now internally consistent. No signal pad is missing. The remaining concerns are the misleading USB-16 package label and the inability to certify exact mechanical tolerances without an accessible copy of the official PDF drawing.
