AC to 24V Power Supply


Create smps schematic input voltage 180 to 265 volt AC and output voltage 24 volt DC 3 ampere current

  • Input voltage: 180 V to 265 V AC
  • Output voltage: 24 V DC
  • Output current: 3 A
Requirements captured for a 72 W offline SMPS: 180โ€“265 VAC input, 24 VDC / 3 A output. No schematic changes were made; the project remains empty because no ACUs are currently available.
Remaining work: select an isolated topology/controller, define safety class and isolation requirements, then design input fuse/EMI/surge protection, rectifier and bulk stage, transformer and switching stage, isolated feedback, output filtering/protection, and verify thermal, creepage/clearance, and regulatory compliance.
No project changes were made. The requested 180โ€“265 VAC to 24 VDC/3 A isolated SMPS is a hazardous 72 W mains design requiring topology, isolation, creepage/clearance, surge/EMI, thermal, and safety-standard decisions; ACUs are currently unavailable, so I cannot execute the schematic.
Remaining work:
  • Select an isolated flyback/forward controller and transformer.
  • Define IEC safety class, insulation class, fuse/surge/EMI protection, and earth arrangement.
  • Design feedback, rectification, protections, and thermal margins.
  • Capture and independently verify the schematic before PCB layout.
