PCB-First vs Enclosure-First Design

Briefly describe what it's like to design a complete product in Flux. Help me understand what the PCB-first and enclosure-first design workflows are like to work with.
Designing a complete product in Flux means developing the electronics and mechanical parts together—moving from requirements to schematic, PCB, enclosure, and manufacturing checks, then iterating as constraints become clear.
  • PCB-first: Start with the circuit, place connectors and components, then design an enclosure around the board. This suits electronics-driven projects; the tradeoff is that the enclosure may need to grow or change to accommodate the PCB.
  • Enclosure-first: Start with the product’s shape, mounting, controls, and connector openings, then fit the PCB inside. This suits products with strict size or usability requirements; the tradeoff is tighter placement constraints and potentially more PCB revisions.
In practice, both workflows alternate between board and enclosure checks rather than finishing one in isolation. I haven’t changed your project; this was an overview only. Execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.
