Sí, pero ojo: para que el TP5100 cargue a 2 A, la resistencia de sensado no es de 50 Ω, sino de 0.05 Ω = 50 mΩ.
En el datasheet del TP5100 aparece:
  • Rs = 0.1 / IBAT
  • para 2 A, entonces Rs = 0.05 Ω
  • también indica usar un diodo Schottky con capacidad al menos equivalente a un Schottky de 2 A. Además, para resistencias shunt, el rango típico suele estar en 10 mΩ a 1 Ω, no decenas de ohmios
La disipación en esa resistencia a 2 A sería:
  • P=I2R=22⋅0.05=0.2 WP = I^2 R = 2^2 \cdot 0.05 = 0.2\ \text{W}P=I2R=22⋅0.05=0.2 W Así que yo no usaría un encapsulado muy pequeño; conviene dejar margen térmico.
