# GK2A or GOES satellite setup to decode (Component)
## Description
The main hardware components which make up a GK-2A or GOES receiver are a parabolic dish antenna with reasonable gain at 1.7 GHz, a low-noise amplifier and a software defined radio (SDR). The Airspy Mini, Airspy R2 and RTL-SDR (also available at NooElec) are all compatible with GK-2A or GOES receiver software. NooElec offers an excellent low-noise amplifier solution which also includes a SAW filter centered on 1688 MHz.
