PCB-First vs Enclosure-First Design

Briefly describe what it's like to design a complete product in Flux. Help me understand what the PCB-first and enclosure-first design workflows are like to work with.
Designing a complete product in Flux means iterating on the electronics, PCB, enclosure, and firmware together—then checking fit, electrical behavior, and manufacturing readiness.
  • PCB-first: Start with the circuit, arrange connectors and components, then shape the enclosure around the board. This works well when electronics drive the design, but can lead to a larger or less polished case.
  • Enclosure-first: Start with the product’s shape, dimensions, mounting, and user controls, then fit the PCB inside. This suits handheld or space-constrained products, but may require tighter placement or more expensive electronics.
In practice, both are iterative: establish the hardest constraints first, then adjust board and enclosure together. I haven’t changed your project; execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.
