Project Started

flux

You’re correct—the rule is still being clamped by Flux’s 0.40 mm system minimum, so my verification was insufficient. I’ll correct the actual minimum/default source and confirm the computed via diameter, not just the requested rule value.

flux

Corrected. The actual computed via geometry now reads:
  • Pad diameter: 0.25 mm
  • Drill: 0.10 mm
  • Annular ring: 0.075 mm per side
The issue was Flux’s separate minSizeX and minSizeY defaults clamping the pad to 0.40 mm. Those exact constraints are now overridden project-wide.
why can't i select pin D3 to route

flux

I’ll inspect which component owns pin D3, its net assignment, pad geometry, layer, and whether an existing route or rule is making it non-selectable.

flux

U1 pin D3 is DVSS, but it currently has no net assignment in the schematic. The project’s GND net includes U2/U3 and passives, but not U1:DVSS::D3.
Flux cannot start a PCB route from a pad without an assigned net. In the schematic:
  1. Find U1 pin DVSS / D3.
  2. Wire it to a GND symbol/net.
  3. Return to PCB layout; D3 should then belong to GND and become routable.
Also remove any No Connect marker on DVSS if one is present.
Wire DVSS to GND
Check other no-connects

Datum and geometry
  • Insertion-edge datum: rightmost tab edge, PCB world X = +83.00 mm.
  • Finished tab width: 4.80 mm (Y = -2.40…+2.40 mm).
  • Finished PCB thickness: 1.60 mm including copper/plating.
  • Leading outline corners: R0.40 mm maximum.
  • Fabricator shall apply 0.40 mm × 45° lead-in bevel on both faces of the insertion edge. The 2D outline radius does not replace this Z-axis bevel.
  • Four fingers terminate flush at the insertion-edge datum.
  • Top fingers: 1.00 × 4.60 mm, same-face pitch 2.00 mm.
  • Bottom fingers: 1.00 × 4.10 mm, same-face pitch 2.00 mm, laterally/row staggered 1.00 mm from Top.
Pin orientation and provisional numbering
Viewed from the Top face, looking toward the insertion edge (+X), the circular/position-1 indicator is adjacent to A1, the lower Top contact (Y = -1.50 mm). Top contacts are A1 then A2 toward +Y. Bottom contacts are B1 then B2 toward +Y when viewed through the board from Top.
The KYOCERA AVX source drawing establishes the position-1 indicator but does not uniquely resolve complete front/back numbering in the extract. Therefore A1/A2/B1/B2 are provisional names and require user confirmation before net assignment or release.
Fabrication and keepout
  • Use hard gold over nickel on the four edge fingers (ENIG acceptable only if the selected fabricator confirms adequate mating-cycle wear performance; hard gold preferred).
  • No solder paste on edge fingers. Pull soldermask back at least 0.15 mm around each finger.
  • Keep copper, vias, and routing other than the four assigned contacts at least 0.20 mm from the contact zone and break line.
  • Breakaway neck uses five 0.40 mm NPTH mouse-bite holes on 0.40 mm pitch at X = 77.80 mm, entirely behind the contact region. Deburr after separation; do not damage fingers or bevel.
