I want to built a USB 2 hub using the USB2514B controller from microchip. I linked relevent documents in the Reference Document file. Generate a product requirements doc, a design spec for schematic capture, a component selection and BOM tracker, a design review template, a test and validation plan, and a DFM checklist for pre-production.

2. Architecture Review

Table

CheckPass/FailNotes
Product requirements align with selected power model
Connector strategy matches intended use case
Configuration method (straps / EEPROM / SMBus) is justified
Non-removable ports clearly identified
Battery charging requirement defined per port
3. Schematic Review
3.1 Hub Core

Table

CheckPass/FailNotes
Correct USB2514B package/pinout used
All VDD33 and VDDA33 pins tied to regulated 3.3 V
One 0.1 uF capacitor present at each power pin location
Shared 1.0 uF bulk capacitor present on local 3.3 V rail
ePad tied to ground with thermal via strategy defined
RBIAS uses 12.0 kOhm 1% to ground
TEST and NC handling matches checklist
3.2 Clock and Reset

Table

CheckPass/FailNotes
24.000 MHz ยฑ350 ppm source selected
Crystal load capacitors match selected crystal
RESET_N timing documented
Reset implementation addresses power-up glitch errata
Reset source is robust for slow or non-monotonic rails
3.3 USB Connectivity

Table

CheckPass/FailNotes
Upstream D+/D- polarity correct
Downstream D+/D- polarity correct on all ports
VBUS_DET divider implemented correctly
Upstream VBUS capacitance <= 10 uF
Exposed downstream ports include power switch and OCS feedback
Unused ports are disabled explicitly
Non-removable ports configured correctly
3.4 Configuration / Strap Logic

Table

CheckPass/FailNotes
CFG_SEL mode documented
Strap resistor values follow guidance
EEPROM or SMBus pull-ups present if used
Battery charging enabled only on adequately rated ports
4. Layout Review

Table

CheckPass/FailNotes
USB differential pairs routed over continuous ground plane
Differential impedance target defined as 90 Ohm nominal
Pair symmetry and length matching reviewed
Protection devices placed directly at connectors
Crystal isolated from USB pairs and noisy supplies
RBIAS resistor placed close with short quiet return
Decoupling caps placed close to hub power pins
Shield routing and grounding strategy documented
High-current VBUS distribution is wide/short enough
5. Errata Review

Table

CheckPass/FailNotes
bcdDevice customization considered if certification applies
Selective suspend limitation accepted or mitigated
RESET_N workaround implemented for power-up glitch
Fast detach/reattach behavior considered in validation
6. Manufacturing / Release Review

Table

CheckPass/FailNotes
Exact MPNs selected for all mandatory parts
Fine-pitch assembly risk reviewed
Test access strategy defined
BOM, validation plan, and DFM checklist all updated
Open issues have owners and due dates
