Designing a complete product in Flux means developing the electronics and mechanical packaging together, checking how power, connectors, controls, mounting, and assembly fit into one usable device.
- PCB-first: Start with the circuit, then establish the board shape, component placement, and routing. Design the enclosure around the board and its connectors afterward. This works well when electronics drive the requirements, but can require enclosure revisions to achieve a compact or polished product.
- Enclosure-first: Start with the product’s size, shape, controls, and connector locations. Fit the PCB into that mechanical envelope, then iterate both together. This suits products where ergonomics or a fixed installation space matter most, but tighter constraints can make PCB placement and routing harder.
In practice, neither is strictly one-way: expect iterations between board and enclosure before manufacturing. I haven’t changed your project in this session; execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.
