Work Done
- Updated project description to reflect a fully passive dual-chain X-Band upconverter with no DC-powered components (#PassiveUpconverter #DualChain #XBand #NoDCPower #BOMUnder300).
Pending Tasks
- Define system architecture: create and save a Mermaid diagram showing external LO SMA → 2-way passive splitter → two passive mixers → 8–10 GHz post-filters → PI-match networks → PCB outputs.
- Remove all DC-powered parts (PLLs/VCOs, LNAs, PAs, voltage regulators) and related power nets/connectors.
- Add two 8–10 GHz bandpass filters as post-filters and two PI-match networks at each mixer output; connect through RF_OUT_CHAIN1 and RF_OUT_CHAIN2 nets.
- Verify or add external LO SMA connector, passive 2-way RF splitter, and isolation pads; connect splitter outputs to mixer LO ports; standardize LO net names (LO_SRC, LO_SPLIT_1, LO_SPLIT_2).
- Standardize all designators and net names; add via-fence and antenna keepout zones per project properties.
- Run ERC and DRC checks; resolve any violations.
- Regenerate BOM and confirm total cost is under $300.
Success Criteria Review
- Schematic is not yet fully passive; LO/RF paths, post-filters, PI-matches, ERC/DRC compliance, and BOM cost have not been implemented or validated.
Next Step
Define the system architecture by drafting the required Mermaid diagram and saving it to the “System Architecture” project property.
