PCB-First vs Enclosure-First Design

Briefly describe what it's like to design a complete product in Flux. Help me understand what the PCB-first and enclosure-first design workflows are like to work with.
Designing a complete product in Flux is an iterative process: I help define requirements, develop the electronics and mechanics, check how they fit together, and prepare for prototyping and manufacturing.
  • PCB-first: I start with the circuit, connectors, and board layout, then design an enclosure around them. This works well when electrical performance or existing hardware drives the product; the enclosure’s size and port locations follow the PCB.
  • Enclosure-first: I start with the product’s shape, dimensions, controls, and mounting, then design the PCB to fit inside. This works well when appearance, ergonomics, or a fixed installation space matters most; electronics must accommodate that envelope.
Both workflows involve iteration—neither means finishing one side before considering the other. I haven’t changed your project this turn. Execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.
