Created and placed a two-piece gray PETG enclosure with separate, toggleable Enclosure Base and Enclosure Lid models. It uses top-access M4 screws threading into plastic bosses, with no bottom bolts or exposed bottom fasteners.
Two-piece FDM prototype enclosure for the NF-Universal Alarm PCB. Both parts use the same centered XY frame and local z=0 at the PCB top surface; the 1.50 mm PCB occupies negative Z.

The expanded 38 mm internal Y dimension provides room for the SW2 footprint that projects beyond the nominal PCB edge and for four closure bosses outside the PCB perimeter.

The base uses Ø6 mm support pads and Ø3.0 mm locating pegs at H1–H4. There are no bottom holes and no bottom fasteners. The actual Ø3.40 mm PCB drills are not M4 clearance holes, so the four M4 lid screws are intentionally located outside the board perimeter at (±25.5, ±17.2) mm rather than passing through the PCB.
Closure bosses are Ø8.0 mm with a Ø3.20 mm pilot placeholder, closed at the bottom. Lid clearance holes are Ø4.6 mm with Ø8.5 mm shallow counterbores. Start with 4× M4 × 12 mm thread-forming/self-tapping screws for thermoplastic, with head diameter ≤8.5 mm. The final pilot diameter, screw length, and torque must be tuned with a printed coupon for the chosen screw geometry, PETG, extrusion width, and printer calibration.
Access and Fit Summary

Fit status
J1 edge USB connector
Left-wall opening 13.5 mm wide × 7.0 mm high, centered near y=0.5 mm; lid skirt relieved
Based on measured footprint bbox x≈-31.95…-24.92, y≈-5.49…6.51. Plug-overmold and exact connector Z remain to be trial-fit.
SW1 vibration/user access
Ø8 mm lid aperture centered (-7.33, 11.00)
Project research gives 5 mm body diameter and 15 mm body height; lid inner roof gives 2.2 mm nominal headroom. Exact installed lead seating is uncertain.
SW2 slide switch
Base side opening 14.0 × 7.4 mm centered near x=-11.1 mm on -Y wall; lid skirt relieved
Three Ø3 mm top apertures at measured footprint-bbox centers
Generous for 0603/0805 light viewing; no light pipes modeled.
BZ1
Seven Ø2 mm acoustic holes over (23.60, 0.00)
Buzzer documented as Ø12 mm, about 9.5–10 mm high; approximately 7.2 mm roof clearance remains.
Charger/timers
Six 2 × 8 mm lid vents around U1/U2/U3 region
Modest passive ventilation; slots remain clear of closure bosses.
Height Assumptions and Risks
Verified: U1 SOT-23-5 maximum package height is 1.45 mm.
Project research: BZ1 is approximately 9.5–10 mm high; SW1 body is approximately 15 mm high excluding pins.
Conservative envelope: lid inner roof is 17.2 mm above PCB, driven by SW1 plus 2.2 mm headroom.
Unverified: exact installed heights and 3D bodies for J1, SW2, and several placeholder library parts. The design is a conservative prototype, not a claim of production fit.
The board metadata calls the holes nominally M4 in places, but the actual drills are Ø3.40 mm. Do not force M4 screws through H1–H4.
J1 mating-plug overmold, SW2 actuator reach, and SW1 installed seating are the primary trial-fit risks.
Suggested FDM Settings
Suggested starting settings; tune for the printer and filament:
PETG, gray; 0.4 mm nozzle.
0.20 mm layer height.
4 perimeters/walls; 5 top and bottom layers.
20–30% gyroid infill.
Print base floor-down and lid top-down or top-up after a bridging check; orient to keep boss bores vertical.
Supports should not be required for the base. Use build-plate-only support for the lid only if the registration skirt or counterbores do not bridge cleanly on the selected orientation.
Add a 3–5 mm brim if PETG corner lift occurs.
Print an M4 boss coupon first and tune pilot diameter in 0.1 mm increments.

Assembly
Print the base, lid, and an M4 boss test coupon using the intended PETG and slicer profile.
Tune the pilot diameter and verify the screw does not split the Ø8 mm boss or bottom out.
Seat the PCB on the four standoffs with the Ø3.0 mm pegs entering H1–H4; confirm the PCB lies flat.
Check J1 and SW2 access before installing the lid.
Lower the lid so its registration skirt enters the base and the J1/SW2 reliefs remain aligned.
Insert four M4 screws from the top and tighten evenly to light hand torque. Do not use powered final torque until the PETG boss behavior is characterized.
Confirm LED visibility, SW1 access, SW2 travel, buzzer sound, and unobstructed connector insertion.
QA Checklist
Base floor is below the PCB and the board is fully contained.
PCB seats on all four supports without rocking.
No screw or hole is exposed through the bottom.
Lid toggles independently in the Flux 3D tree and closes without skirt interference.
J1 plug inserts fully; SW2 reaches both end positions; SW1 is accessible.
LEDs are visible and the buzzer is not acoustically blocked.
Bosses show no whitening, radial cracks, stripping, or bottoming after repeated service cycles.
