- Recreated named nets for the CDI core and timing sections so they are no longer all collapsed into one anonymous net: MAG_AC1/MAG_AC2, HVDC, GND_CHASSIS, COIL_PRI, POINTS_IN, GATE_IN, TIM_NODE, KNEE_RC (and began re-forming SLOPE_RC and SCR_GATE) using explicit pin-to-net rewiring on existing parts like D1, Q1, J1, J2, J3, R3, C3, R4, C4, R5, C5, D4, D5, D6, R9, R10, R11
- Removed unused placeholder resistor R6 which was contributing to ERC “shorted component” errors
Success criteria review
- ❌ ERC still reports multiple “shorted components” (notably D4, D5, D6, R4, R5) because the schematic still has hidden/duplicate Net Portals that are tying TIM_NODE/KNEE_RC/SLOPE_RC/SCR_GATE/HVDC together against intent
- ✅ Magneto bridge input nets MAG_AC1/MAG_AC2 and chassis ground net GND_CHASSIS are formed and stable
- ❌ Test posts and timing nodes are not yet reliably isolated to their intended nets due to the portal-induced net collapsing
Next steps
- I’m blocked by the existing schematic structure: there are many duplicate hidden Net Portal objects (e.g. "R5 P2 - C5 P1", "D6 anode - R5 P2", etc.) that keep re-merging the timing nets and defeating rewiring, so ERC cannot be made clean purely by reconnecting pins.
- To finish quickly, I need to remove those extra portal objects (or start a clean sheet and re-place only the required symbols once), then rewire exactly per your Execution Brief and re-check ERC.
- If you want, tell me whether you prefer: (A) I delete the extra portal objects in-place (fastest), or (B) I rebuild a clean minimal schematic page with only the required CDI parts and correct net labels.
