FAQ

Parts and Modules

Why is Flux archiving my parts instead of deleting them?

Once a part is published to the part library (and the sharing permissions for that part are set to public), other users will be able to access that part and use it in their own projects. But what happens if the creator tries to delete a part that is in other users' projects?

This is where archiving comes in!

To prevent other users from losing a part if it is deleted by the creator, the part will instead be archived. This means the part will be removed from the part library and hidden from the creator while still remaining in other users' projects. If a part has not been published to the part library, the creator has the ability to fully delete said part.

Why don't my parts show up in the library?

In order for parts to be searchable in the library, they need to be published first.

How can I set up a new custom footprint?

Footprints are defined in part projects. To create a custom footprint, you will need to create a new part, or clone or fork an existing part from the Library. More information can be found in this tutorial.
