Buck Converter Load Transient Analysis

Load-Transient Result
I ran the transient with the load stepping from 100 mA to 400 mA at 3.000 ms, and measured the response around the load-step event, not startup.

Settling-time definition used
I used a band of ±1% around the final settled Vout:
  • Final settled Vout = 3.177761 V
  • Settling band = 3.145983 V to 3.209539 V
The waveform never left that band, so the measured settling time is effectively 0 µs for that criterion.
Important note
This result is based on the available averaged behavioral model of the regulator, so it is good for control-envelope/load-step response but does not include switching ripple.
If you want, I can next give you:
  • a tighter settling-time measurement such as ±0.5%, ±0.25%, or ±5 mV, or
  • a more detailed follow-up analysis of the transient waveform.
Use tighter settling band
