FMCW altimeter radar PCB
No design work has been performed yet in this session. The project is still empty: no components, nets, schematic, PCB outline, or radar architecture have been created.
I can’t continue executing design tasks right now because there are no available ACUs for AI features. Once ACUs are available, the next steps for an FMCW altimeter radar PCB would be:
  • Define requirements: operating band, altitude range, range resolution, update rate, antenna type, supply, size, and regulatory region.
  • Select radar architecture: integrated mmWave radar SoC/module vs discrete PLL/VCO/mixer/ADC chain.
  • Create a project specification and block diagram.
  • Choose key parts: radar transceiver, MCU/processor, power tree, RF connectors/antennas, programming/debug, and interfaces.
  • Capture schematic, then proceed to RF-aware PCB layout with controlled impedance, antenna keepouts, grounding, and shielding strategy.
