Designing a complete product in Flux means developing the electronics and mechanical packaging together, checking their fit, and iterating toward a manufacturable design—not just drawing a schematic.
- PCB-first: Start with the circuit, then size and lay out the board. Build the enclosure around its mounting holes, connectors, and component heights. This suits products where electrical performance drives the design, but the case may need to grow around the board.
- Enclosure-first: Start with the product’s shape, dimensions, controls, and connector openings. Design the PCB to fit that space. This suits handheld devices or products with a fixed mounting location, but board placement and routing can be more constrained.
Both workflows involve back-and-forth: the enclosure constrains the PCB, while connectors, heat, and assembly needs influence the enclosure. I haven’t changed your project in this session; execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.
