I couldn’t find documentation that directly explains why the Auto-Layout button is greyed-out. The closest entry I found simply describes how to start an Auto-Layout run:
Getting Started – Initiate Auto-Layout
  1. Make sure your schematic and component placement are finalized.
    1. Adjust any specific constraints for your board, such as dimensions, component orientations, or keep-out zones.
    2. Confirm your credit allowance before starting. Auto-Layout consumes Copilot credits per job based on complexity.
  2. Click on the auto-route button at the bottom page.

If these prerequisites (finalized placement or available Copilot credits) aren’t satisfied, the button may remain disabled. For more details, you can browse the full documentation or ask in the Flux community:

how do i make traces be a certain distance apart?

I couldn’t find any Flux documentation that explains a rule for enforcing minimum trace-to-trace spacing. That likely means Flux doesn’t (yet) expose a dedicated “clearance” layout rule. You can browse the docs yourself or ask in the community in case there’s been a recent update:
