Peripheral Corridor Pass
Result
2026-09-16 scoped routing attempt: 40 airwires before → 40 after; net reduction 0. No connection completed. No retained PCB change. No component moved. No existing copper removed or reconstructed. Two trial 2V5 segments were created, rejected on overlap, and deleted; original routing was preserved.
This batch did not achieve its reduction goal; overall routing remains incomplete.
Per-item status and blockers

Table

PriorityItemStatusEvidence / specific blocker
1U5 VO → existing 2V5 islandFailedTargeting C23:P1 still selected the island's closest Mid-Layer 6 trace at (-17.318, 1.265), which targeted routing cannot terminate on. A second, different local-access trial used existing U5 output via (-39.65,10), Mid-Layer 2 copper through (-38.65,9) to (-19.5,9), width 0.5 mm. It produced four overlapping-copper findings and no acceptable reduction; both new segments were removed. Stop after these two attempts.
2Disconnected 3V3 islandsFailedFive joins attempted as one net batch at 0.15 mm: Trace 72b0→R18:P2; Trace 5172→Trace ea24; C30:P1→Trace 6604; R20:P2→R60:P2; R22:P2→Trace 0aec. Trace 5172→ea24 was blocked-no-path; other batch candidates were transactionally rejected because the guard reported seven introduced airwire errors. Individual second attempts for C30 (0.15 mm), R18 (0.2 mm), and R20→R60 (0.2 mm) were rejected with one, two, and three introduced airwire errors respectively. No copper persisted. No further retry of those three joins. U1:VCCIO8_P9 branch was not targeted.
3GND trace/fill/via islands without inner-ball escapeFailed / excluded branches unattemptedTrace 7555→Trace ba6b returned blocked-no-path at (-8.660,0.660)→(-8.600,0.400), within the U1 footprint. No copper applied and no further work in that BGA area. Other listed GND airwires involve U1 balls; no independently verified non-BGA fill/via corridor was reconstructed.
4MCU_SWDIO U2:PA13→J4:2Failed0.15 mm routing candidate rejected by guard: five introduced airwire errors. No copper persisted.
5aSD_MISO U2:PB14→R58:P1Failed0.15 mm targeted attempt returned blocked-no-path.
5bSD_MOSI U2:PB15→Trace 0756FailedClosest destination at (33.900,-5.060) lies on Mid-Layer 6, unsupported as a targeted-router endpoint. No pickup reconstruction attempted.
6USB_VBUS_SENSE R63:P1→U2:PA9Failed0.15 mm targeted attempt returned blocked-no-path. R62/R63 remained in place.
7Non-BGA Host SPIFailed for SCK; other branches unattemptedU2:PA5→Trace 9864 at (16.250,1.930) returned blocked-no-path at 0.15 mm. Other displayed Host SPI airwires terminate at U1; their BGA-facing branches were not attempted.
The introduced-airwire rejection counts above are tool reports, not retained errors or proof of an underlying tool defect. Rejected candidates were not available for a detailed copper-delta diagnosis.
Verification and preservation
  • Live routing-state reads before and after both returned exactly 40 airwires, with the same endpoint list.
  • Final explicit DRC review timestamp: 2026-09-16T05:03:19.667Z.
  • Final requested DRC categories: 40 airwire Errors; no findings returned for overlapping copper, overlapping traces, invalid layers, under-connected vias, protected intrusions, or stackup validation.
  • The trial 2V5 path generated four overlapping-copper Errors. Deleting only new Trace 1e07 and Trace c564 resolved all four; final DRC confirmed no overlapping-copper findings.
  • Preflight Warning remains outside this scope: U1:VCCAUX_F15 track width exceeds pin size. No U1 rule or escape change was made. Advisory Info: EP pin allowed via-at-SMD.
  • Existing 20 redundant traces in 10 groups remain unchanged, in compliance with the prohibition on bulk deletion.
  • Schematic connectivity, FPGA pinout, U1 placement, all support-component positions, protected USB copper, board outline, eight-layer stackup, and 0.6/0.3 mm standard via definition were not modified.
  • Body-overlap review was not rerun because no placement changed. This is a scoped routing acceptance check, not a complete manufacturing signoff.
Handoff
Preserved the baseline rather than retaining a non-reducing or overlapping route. Further progress requires a verified local pickup/corridor reconstruction (especially 2V5 and SD_MOSI) or targeted obstruction analysis of the rejected peripheral candidates; do not repeat the same failed endpoint methods. No successful route from this batch exists to carry forward.
