Bluetooth Control

The ESP32 supports Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). For this robot controller, are you trying to add:
  • Phone control using BLE
  • A Bluetooth gamepad/controller
  • Wireless configuration or telemetry
  • Something else?
Can you wire up Bluetooth Classic for a gamepad receiver?
Yes—but no additional schematic wiring is required. The existing ESP32-DEVKIT-V1 has Bluetooth Classic built in, so the gamepad pairs directly with the ESP32’s radio; gamepad inputs are handled in firmware, typically using the Bluepad32 library.
The hardware priorities are adequate 3.3 V power and keeping copper/components clear of the ESP32 module’s antenna area. Which gamepad are you targeting—PS4, PS5, Xbox, Switch, or generic Bluetooth HID?
Add the Bluetooth receiver hookup to the ESP32 and map the control inputs.
The ESP32’s Bluetooth Classic receiver is internal, so there is no external signal hookup to add. I’ll instead add a schematic note/interface definition and map a standard gamepad as follows: left stick Y → forward/reverse, right stick X → steering, L1 → enable, R1 → boost, and Options/Start → emergency stop.
Editing the project and verifying the ESP32 antenna/power arrangement requires Agent mode.
