PCB-First vs Enclosure-First Design

Briefly describe what it's like to design a complete product in Flux. Help me understand what the PCB-first and enclosure-first design workflows are like to work with.
Designing a complete product in Flux means working through the electronics, PCB, enclosure, firmware, and manufacturing checks as one connected design—not just drawing a circuit.
  • PCB-first: Start with the circuit, place connectors and components, then size and route the board. Build the enclosure around it afterward. This suits electronics-driven prototypes, but connector access and mounting can force board revisions if considered too late.
  • Enclosure-first: Start with the product’s shape, how it’s held or mounted, and where controls and ports belong. Design the PCB to fit those constraints. This suits handheld or space-constrained products, but usually makes component placement and routing more demanding.
In practice, both workflows are iterative: establish the critical mechanical constraints early, then refine the board and enclosure together. I haven’t changed your project; execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.
