CM5 Minimal Support Circuit Design

Add the minimum required set of components needed to run a simple project using the CM5. Keep the design as minimal and practical as possible while ensuring the module can boot and operate reliably.
Include only the essential supporting circuitry:
Power input and regulation
Decoupling capacitors
Required clocks or pull-ups/pull-downs
Avoid unnecessary features or complex expansion circuitry
Optimize for simplicity and fast prototyping
Keep the BOM as small as possible
I’ll build the smallest practical CM5 support schematic: inspect the existing module pins, verify CM5 power/boot requirements from documentation, add only power input/regulation, required passives, and decoupling, then run checks and fix issues.
I’m blocked because execution credits ran out before I could modify the schematic.
Completed:
  • Set up the design plan for a minimal CM5 carrier/support circuit.
  • Retrieved the required internal guidance for power budgeting, datasheet-based wiring, passive support components, generic component properties, component addition, schematic wiring, and project documentation.
Not yet completed:
  • Inspecting the CM5 symbol pins.
  • Verifying CM5 minimum boot/power requirements from authoritative docs.
  • Selecting and adding the minimal power input/regulation components.
  • Adding decoupling, required pull-ups/pull-downs, and any required boot/reset support.
  • Wiring the schematic.
  • Running review/ERC and fixing violations.
  • Creating a persistent project file with assumptions and power budget.
The project schematic itself has not been changed yet.
