Thought for a moment
use the smallest pcb dimentions possible
Understood — I’ll pause routing, compact the board first, then restart routing on the smaller layout so we don’t waste effort on the larger outline.
I compacted the PCB from 100×150 mm down to 96×120 mm, which is the smallest practical size found without rotating the Nano footprint into an internal copper conflict. Placement is clean: Nano centered, RJ45s on side edges, MAX487/passives in the left channel, and switches along the bottom.
Open items:
  • Routing is only partially complete because the account ran out of available ACUs.
  • Completed routes: 12V bus between RJ45s and to SW1, 5V between RJ45s, 3.3V between RJ45s.
  • Remaining: finish power branches to Nano/SW1, GND, RS-485 A/B, termination switch, UART/control routes, then final DRC.
Suggested next steps:
  1. Add ACUs, then continue routing from the current compact placement.
  2. If routing is too tight, allow a small size increase such as 100×120 mm.
  3. After routing, add silkscreen labels for the switch positions.
Expand route label
Continue compact routing
Increase board width
Add switch labels
Run placement DRC
